Terms and Conditions

By renting a vehicle from RentnHop, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. General Points

  1. The minimum age to rent a bike is 20 years.
  2. Vehicles are provided with empty tanks (with just enough fuel to reach the nearest petrol pump).
  3. All traffic challans or penalties issued during the rental period must be paid in full by the customer.
  4. In case of damage to the bike due to accident, mishandling, or carelessness, the customer will be liable to pay the charges estimated by our partner / service centre.
  5. In case of theft, the customer is liable to pay the full market value of the vehicle. During the rental tenure, full responsibility of the bike lies with the renter.
  6. In case of any fault or mechanical failure, the customer must inform RentnHop Customer Support or the vendor immediately.
  7. Negligent driving, drunk driving, or overspeeding (above 80 km/h) will attract a penalty of ₹1000.
  8. All bookings are subject to availability. RentnHop reserves the right to cancel any booking if deemed necessary.
  9. The renter is not allowed to lend the bike to any other person without informing RentnHop. If allowed, the renter must verify the documents of the additional rider before the trip begins. Failure to do so will result in a penalty of ₹1000.
  10. The security deposit mentioned on the website is mandatory. Refusal to pay the deposit will result in booking cancellation without any refund.
  11. Pickup date/time and location cannot be changed once a booking is confirmed.
  12. The vehicle must be returned to the same location from where it was picked up. Change of drop location is not permitted.
  13. General servicing (engine oil change, filter cleaning, brake check) is mandatory every 1500 km during the rental period and must be done by the customer at their own cost. The servicing invoice must be submitted upon return. Failure to do so will result in the customer bearing all engine-related issues and a penalty of ₹1000.
  14. Only the person who made the reservation is allowed to drive the vehicle. Any discrepancy will result in a penalty of ₹2000.
  15. Any accident or damages to the vehicle must be paid in full at the time of return. The amount will be assessed by the service centre or location mechanic.
  16. Engine warranty is covered by RentnHop. However, wear and tear (puncture, tyre, brakes, clutch plate) and electrical faults are the customer’s responsibility.
  17. Vehicles must be returned at the specified date/time as mentioned on the website/invoice. Delay of more than 30 minutes will attract a penalty of ₹100 per hour + daily rent of that bike.
  18. Customers must call Customer Support to request a trip extension. Extension is subject to vehicle availability.
  19. Extension requests must be made at least 4 hours before the drop-off time. Extension without informing RentnHop will result in a penalty of ₹100/hour + daily rent.
  20. If the customer does not return the bike on time despite denial of an extension request, a penalty of ₹500/hour + daily rent will apply.

2. Warranty Exclusions

  • Wear & tear items (clutch plates, chain sprocket, tyres, tubes, brake pads)
  • Fuel pump
  • Any electrical faults (spark plug, relay, fuse, etc.)
  • Clutch and accelerator cables

3. Documentation

  • Proper documentation is mandatory to rent a vehicle. If valid documents are not provided, the reservation will be automatically cancelled without any refund.
  • A valid Voter ID / Passport / Aadhaar Card must be submitted in original. (Fake IDs will be reported to the local police.)
  • A valid Driving License must be shown in original physical form or on the DigiLocker app (screenshots/photos are not allowed).
  • Learner’s licenses are not accepted.
  • For foreign nationals, one original ID proof must be submitted. Additionally, a photo of their International Driving Permit will be taken, and their passport will be verified.

4. Security Deposit

  • A security deposit is mandatory and must be paid in full at the time of pickup.
  • No deductions for delivery/extension will be made from the deposit.
  • Failure to pay the security deposit will lead to cancellation without refund.
  • On return, the security deposit will be refunded after vehicle inspection.

5. Trip Extension

  • Trip extension is allowed subject to availability.
  • Upon confirmation of availability, it is mandatory to pay the rental amount in full as informed by the agent.
  • Extension without prior confirmation and payment will result in a fine of ₹100/hour + daily rent per extended day.

6. Cancellation Policy

All bookings operate on a reservation model, meaning each vehicle is usually reserved before and after your selected pickup/return time.

Important: No refund will be given after the trip has started or for mid-trip plan changes or early return of the vehicle.

  1. For Full Payment Bookings:
    • 80% refund if cancelled 5 days or more before the scheduled pickup
    • 50% refund if cancelled 3–5 days before the scheduled pickup
    • 0% refund if cancelled within 0–3 days of the scheduled pickup (Convenience charges, payment gateway charges, or taxes are non-refundable)
  2. For Partial Payment / Advance Bookings:

    The advance amount is non-refundable except in case of vehicle unavailability from our side, where a full refund will be provided.

  3. 100% Cancellation Charges Apply If:
    • Booking is cancelled at or after the scheduled pickup time
    • No-show at the time of pickup
    • Incomplete, fake, or invalid documents are presented
    • Customer does not meet the minimum driver age criteria
    • Misuse of any website glitch, bug, or coupon
  4. Booking Modifications:

    Any changes to pickup/return date, time, or vehicle type are handled case-by-case, subject to availability and approval. Additional fees may apply as informed by the reservation agent.
